Operations will begin at 10 a.m. The municipal snow bank will be cleared only.

Due to the large amounts of rain expected during the day, followed by near-freezing temperatures, no driveways will be plowed to avoid creating icy spots. (The snowblower picks up as it reads the cleared surface, so it’s best to leave accumulations on the ground). We’re keeping a close eye on the situation, and further decisions will be made as necessary over the course of tomorrow or Friday.

Monday, February 17

8h am: Clean-up for the snow alert finishing service will start at 8 a.m. this morning. To ensure full service, please move your vehicles and shovel by hand before the operator arrives.

Sunday, February 16

9pm: For safety and efficiency reasons, operations are over for today.

10h : The Déneigement des Monts team will be out on the roads from 10am. We’ll be working continuously on each of the entrances until 6pm-7pm (or longer if necessary!)

The clean-up, being the finishing service with snow alert, will be carried out on Monday morning, February 17, between 8am and 2pm.

A small gesture that makes a big difference: We ask you to avoid creating snow drifts behind cars or in your driveway. As we can’t guarantee that this snow will be picked up before tomorrow, it could complicate the snowplough’s work and, above all, prevent you from getting out of your driveway. By avoiding these accumulations, you’ll keep your driveway clear, and together we’ll help make snow removal more efficient.

1 – Depending on weather forecasts, a first summary* passage (1) is planned during the night.

* Summary pass: Passage behind cars and/or in front of garage doors to allow customers to circulate. Corrections and enlargements will be made during the finishing pass.

2 – A second finishing pass (2) will be launched once all our customers have been summarily cleared of snow. Snow alerts will be activated at this time.

* Finishing pass: Snow alerts activated. We are carrying out the corrective measures. We ask you to get your vehicles out and shovel by hand before the operators arrive.

SNOW ALERTS: This computerized system is not flawless, and we have no control over it. Once again this year, we have noticed that it is not working properly in some areas.

Addresses receiving service between 5ham and 8ham will be reviewed after we have passed through all the entrances.

2pm: Operations are now over.

A reminder to all! Every customer is responsible for maintaining his driveway. The presence of large rocks, pieces of brick, logs, wooden pallets… these are examples of objects that can significantly damage snowblowers and consequently cause major delays in the operation schedule.

Tuesday January 9/Wednesday January 10

NIGHT OPERATION

10pm (January 9): Operations will start this evening at 10pm. Operators will clear all snow from your driveway without asking you to take your cars out.

A second pass will be made during the day on Wednesday to pick up the snow banks provided by the municipality. Only the snow banks will be picked up at this time, so please don’t leave any snow banks behind your cars, preventing you from getting out of your driveway.

The final clean-up will take place on Thursday morning, January 11. It is at this time that snow alerts will be activated and corrective measures taken.

* Please note that there is no need to contact us to find out if the tractor responsible for your area is nearby. Operators juggle the complexities of your driveways, machinery and weather conditions. All the while doing their best. It’s also pointless to contact us before the final clean-up to tell us that we’ve missed a section of your driveway. Please contact us after the final cleaning.

Here are a few clarifications that I feel need to be made. A sector for which an employee is responsible includes around sixty entrances, and takes him around 6 to 8 hours to complete. This time is considered normal for the area the employee covers.

21h45: Operations are now complete for the day. We apologize for the delay. We’ll be back in operation tomorrow morning to complete our final pass. We will proceed with modifications and adjustments. Snow alerts will be activated.

Déneigement des Monts glossary

Worker’s pass: A quick pass through each entrance to allow customers to go about their daily business (often done in the wee hours of the morning during heavy overnight accumulations).

Brief passage: We widen the entrance as much as possible without asking you to take your cars out, as we don’t want to obstruct the work of the municipal snow plough. Corrections will be made at the finishing pass.

Finishing pass: Snow alerts are activated. You must get your cars out and shovel by hand before the operators arrive.
